


Portsmouth Language College is in the centre of Southsea, which has many great attractions. There is Southsea Castle, the Royal Marines and D-Day Museums, as well as the Pyramids centre for swimming, the Blue Reef Aquarium for marine life, the South Parade Pier and the shops of Palmerston Road.
The city of Portsmouth is world-famous as a port. The seaside resort town of Southsea is on the southern point. It also has a long, unspoilt coastline to the east. The south of England is a great place to study a language and Portsmouth is in the best possible position.
The shopping and leisure complex, Gunwharf Quays, with the Spinnaker Tower at its heart, is close to the historic naval dockyards. These dockyards are home to the 200 year old HMS Victory and the 500 year old Mary Rose ships. Well worth a visit! Portsmouth is also a modern city as well an historic Royal Navy port
Central London is only 90 minutes away but living costs in Portsmouth are generally cheaper (especially for accommodation).
Portsmouth has an international ferry port with regular crossings to France and Spain.
Portsmouth & Southsea retain a very ‘English’ feel despite being a very student-friendly city with lots of students from all over the world.
The beautiful Isle of Wight is only minutes away by hovercraft or ferry.
We are less than an hour away from the historic towns of Southampton, Winchester and Chichester. Other places of interest, such as Brighton, Salisbury (for Stonehenge), Bournemouth, Oxford and Bath can be reached directly by train from Portsmouth. Our social programme frequently organises trips to all of these place.
