This Sunday, we are going to the New Forest.  We will be getting a train to Brockenhurst and then walking through the forest to the town of Lyndhurst.  Wear comfortable shoes and waterproof clothing - in case it rains.  Also, bring a sense of humour as David will no doubt get us lost in the forest for a third time!

 Portsmouth Language College Students - meet at Fratton Station at 11.00.

Southampton Language College Students - meet at Southampton Central Station (Platform 1 Entrance) at 12.00.

Following an inspection, the University of Cambridge has approved Portsmouth Language College as a Cambridge Examination Centre.  This means that for FCE, CAE and CPE students will no longer have to travel to Winchester.

Our Centre Number is 00777 and our first exams will be in June 2010.

The Principal would like to thank the University of Cambridge for accepting us.

This March, we are organising a 3-night trip to Amsterdam.  As you probably know, Amsterdam is one of the liveliest cities in the world to visit with great culture and history.  You will love it there, we are sure!

The trip will cost only £160 and this includes all travel and bed & breakfast in a 4-star Hotel.  This is an amazing price for such a popular city.  The only negative point is that students will have to share rooms in groups of 4 (boys and girls will be separate of course).

A £40 Deposit must be paid by Monday 1^st March to secure your place.

The full £160 must be paid by Friday 12^th March

A big thank you to all students who took part in our cake sale to help raise money for the Oxfam Haiti Earthquake Appeal. We raised £22.03, which will go towards helping those affected by the disaster.

We have recently installed our first Interactive Whiteboard and cinema style projector for Portsmouth Language College.  A similar one will be installed in Southampton Language College in the next few weeks.  It is the Principal’s aim to invest a lot of money in improving students’ educational experience at our Colleges.

 As a result, we are able to begin a Cinema Club at Portsmouth Language College.  Every Wednesday, we will be showing a film in Room 4.  See posters for details.

On Thursday 4th Feb, Southampton English Language College is going to do some Karaoke at the Old Fat Cat, Above Bar Street.  We are meeting at 20.00.  There is a prize for the best singer!
